This multifaceted department promotes an equal and effective means of employee relations, administers positions and pay classification, employment training and employee benefits countywide for approximately 1,100 employees.

What are the minimum requirements for applying for a county job?
All applicants must be at least 18 yrs old and meet requirements for each job listing.
How long is my application kept on file?
Applications are kept active one (1) year from the date of application.
Can I apply for more than one job on my application?
Yes, you can apply for more than one job on your application. Simply, list the jobs by title in the space provided.
What are your working hours?
Normal working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. However, some work schedules may vary.
How often will “new” jobs be listed? Where do you advertise vacancies?

Where do I submit my application?
All applications MUST be submitted to the Robeson County Human Resources office located at:
550 N. Chestnut
Lumberton, NC 28358
Upon selection, a candidate must submit to a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.
Note: If you are applying for the Sheriff’s Department and or Jail you must submit your application to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Department.
If you are applying for a position with the Register of Deeds you must contact the Register of Deeds office.
